Orlando, FL: Driver Falls Asleep And Collides With Tree in Fatal Crash

Orlando, FL (April 10th) – On Friday, April 10th, a driver fell asleep and crashed into a tree in Orange County. A passenger was killed in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle was 22-year-old Austin Long of Orlando. He was driving a Toyota, traveling east on University Boulevard at Forsyth Road, close to Winter Park. University Boulevard’s eastbound lanes in the area were closed off.

Long fell asleep while driving, and the car ran off the road, colliding with a tree. The crash was reported around 4 a.m.

Ilona Clinger, a 22-year-old woman from Longwood, was a passenger in the car. She was taken to Winter Park Hospital and later passed away due to injuries from the crash.

Long incurred serious injuries from the crash. It’s been confirmed that both Clinger and Long had not been wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. However, alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
