Tampa, FL: Bicyclist and Motorcyclist Killed in Collision

Tampa, FL (April 4th) – A motorcyclist collided with a bicyclist on Bayshore Boulevard on Saturday, April 4th. Both drivers were killed in the collision. 

Public officials have struggled to make Bayshore Boulevard, a road with a stunning view of Hillsborough Bay, safe after multiple fatal accidents. This is the fifth roadway death on Bayshore Boulevard that’s occurred over the past two years. 

The collision between the motorcyclist and bicyclist took place around 11 a.m. The bicyclist was hit by the motorcyclist while attempting to use the crosswalk by Rome Avenue. The motorcyclist was travelling north in a group of three. The accident occurred in view of numerous passersby along the boulevard and caused significant public distress.  

The motorcyclist was in their 30s and died at the scene. The bicyclist was in their 50s and died from injuries later in the day at the hospital.
